Competition Results (2006)
Masters Friday (Major)
The 2006 Masters Friday Tournament represented the 8th official installment of this outing.
This year, due to the fact the MFC has 3 stock members, the tournament was moved to West Houston's premier venue, Pine Forest CC.  PFCC regulary receives accolades for their bermuda greens.  With the MFC's first major of the season on the card, and in keeping within the spirit of Augusta's lightening fast surfaces, the PFCC greenskeeping staff had our greens rolling just under Stimp 6.

The leader coming off the course (R.L. Trailor) posted an impressive -10; however there was a three-way race coming down the stretch, and Rene Casadaban (pronounced: Ka-saad-a-ban) relied on Ernie & Freddy to secure the Green Jacket.

Unfortunately, Rene had to leave early for choir practice, and we were unable to document his Green Jacket ceremony.
The Woody Cup (Major)
The 2006 Woody Cup grew in stature during this, its 3rd year.  With the field now up to 10 players, and the faithful still reeling from last year's Shot Heard Round the 17th Fairway, it seemed palpable that this year's installment would not dissapoint.

And it didn't.

To secure the Cup, Andy "Pop" Turner had to fire a 1-under par back nine to claim the top spot.  Like last year, we again witnessed heroics down the stretch.  This time however, it was from the greenside bunker on #18, as Andy got up & down to seal the victory.

You can read his recap of the event here.
